• Do your prices/quotes for wasp nest removal vary by area?

• No, they don't in the geographical area we usually cover but they vary by locations of the wasp nests on houses.

 

• What is your standard wasp removal service?

• Application of insecticide into a wasp nest and/or on wasp alighting surfaces immediately surrounding the nest.

 

• What is the purpose of wasp nest removal treatment?​

• To kill all wasps infesting your property whether they are in the nest at a time of treatment or not.

 

• How long does it take?

• The time our pest control technicians require to treat a wasp nest is circa 20 minutes.

 

• What do you use?

• Dust formulation residual insecticides - carbamates and pyrethroids for safe and fast wasp kill.

 

• What happens to the wasps?

• Powerful insecticide works fast and the wasps start dying just seconds after the application. 

 

• What about the wasps that are not in the nest at the time of treatment?

• There always are wasps flying in and out of the nest during the day, mainly foraging for food. The residual insecticide in the nest will kill them all as soon as they return.

 

• What about a case when the insecticide could not be applied into the nest but on the surrounding wasp alighting area only?

• Wasps returning back to the nest contaminate themselves with insecticidal dust that they will transfer on their bodies further into the nest, killing the rest of their peers, including the wasp queen.

 

• How long does it take for all the wasps to die? (i.e. When wasp activity in and around the nest will cease?)

• From just a couple of hours up to 3 days, an average is by the next day.

 

• What happens with the nest? (i.e the nesting material called byke wasps left behind)

• Treated wasp nest material will disintegrate in place; however, Czm8's customers may request the removal and disposal of inactive or treated wasp bikes where they are accessible.

 

• Can wasps come back and use the treated nest again?

• Wasps do not do it.

 

• Can you take a treated wasp nest away after treatment?

• It would not be a good practice in trying to do so at the same time as the treatment. Although, it can be safely done on 3 days following a visual check of the formerly active nest. If you disposed of a just-treated wasp nest too quickly, it would not get rid of all the wasps.

 

• Do you come back after 3 days to take a treated wasp nest away?

• Not unless specifically requested by the customer. Even then, only some accessible wasp bikes can be physically removed and it carries a separate charge. 

 

• Is there a point in removing a treated wasp bike (nesting material) which is no longer active?

• No, there is not. Wasps do not use the same nest more than once. But you can do so after 3 days where an old wasp nest would cause an eyesore. 

 

• How long does it take for an inactive wasp nest to disintegrate?

• Depending on the nest size and location, anything between a couple of weeks when openly exposed to the elements, to several years when in wall cavities, lofts, sheds or other sheltered locations.

 

• What can adversely affect a wasp nest removal treatment?

• Harsh weather such as heavy rain can occasionally cause treatment to go ineffective but all our customers can fall back on the guarantee for 100% kill of the wasps hence we would come and treat such a wasp nest again free of charge.

 

• How often does it happen a wasp nest treatment has to be repeated?

• Very rarely with professionals :-)

 

• All Czm8's wasp nest treatments are guaranteed; how can I claim the guarantee?

• Contact Czechmate Pest Control by phone or by email in the unlikely event of live wasps are still flying in and out of the treated nest after 3 days from the date of treatment. Please provide the date of the treatment and your address. Once the job is located in our records, a technician will be scheduled to re-visit your property within 3 working days to inspect, assess, and to re-treat the wasp nest if it is still active.

• What if the insects thought to be wasps turn out to be not wasps but honey bees or bumblebees?

• We do not treat/kill honey bees' or bumblebees' nests unless they pose an immediate hazard and when a beekeeper or humane removal is available as an alternative to their extermination.
